A Novel Idea for Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner. What will you give the ones you love?

Here’s a novel idea! Since Christmas is all about Jesus, why not give gifts that also are a gift to Him?

After all, He created us for His glory, to know Him, to love Him, and to share His love with others. So, why not give as gifts to the people you love books that bring that purpose back into focus?

And since we’re talking about “novel ideas” …

Here are two Pure-As-Gold Seal novels, packed with truth, to help young people know who they are in Christ, learn to listen to His leading, and break free from pride, fear and other strongholds. It’s a fun, action-packed fantasy adventure about friendship, following the King and the danger of falling to lies.

Chronicles of the Kingdom of Light

Rescue from Darkness, Book 1: Chronicles of the Kingdom of Light
Sands of Surrender, Book 2: Chronicles of the Kingdom of Light

“We just finished reading the Narnia series, and then we started reading the Chronicles of the Kingdom of LightThe spiritual meaning is so much clearer in Rescue from Darkness, and has given us much to talk about. My children are drawing closer to the Lord and stronger in their faith through reading your novel. We can’t wait to read Sands of Surrender!”  (Ingrid, children ages 10-12)

“I just finished Rescue from Darkness. Today, I talked to Jesus all day long just like Victoria. And He answered me!” (Charis, age 14)

“Recently I read the Chronicles of the Kingdom of Light and my husband has noticed a difference and has encouraged me to read more books by the author. This is the first time that he has seen so much fruit in me so quickly as a result of reading books and so, based on his response, Rescue from Darkness and Sands of Surrender are my all-time favorite books. And yes, I know that they’re written for kids!” (Ruth H, mother)

Snatched from their summer fun by a sudden tragedy, six friends loyal to the King of Light embark upon an unforgettable adventure into the Kingdom of Darkness to rescue a young boy held hostage by evil creatures. Astride such mystical mounts as a winged tiger, a flying unicorn, and a giant cobra, these ordinary young people engage in an extraordinary battle against dragons and monsters that will cost them more than they counted on. Based on bedtime stories created by author Mikaela Vincent to help her children live who they are in Christ, Chronicles of the Kingdom of Light is an inspirational allegory filled with adventure, humor, and some truths that just might change your life. These first two books, Rescue from Darkness and Sands of Surrender, as well as other Pure-As-Gold Seal books for youth and children are available at MoreThanAConquerorBooks.com.

Where knowing Christ is forbidden

Did you consider not celebrating Christmas this year? What got you thinking along those lines? Commercialism? Traditions with pagan roots? Some other reason on an ever-growing list?

Christmas takes on a whole new meaning when you live where it is forbidden. Where even one decoration in your home could get you arrested. Where telling the story of Jesus is against the law, and no Bible is available, even if you wanted to read it. Where being a Christian could cost you your livelihood, your family, or even your life. Where singing carols must be silent, and gathering together with other believers runs the risk of arrest, abduction, beatings, torture, getting shot at, blown up, killed.

If you’ve joined us for the Prayer Wall, you may have noticed the photos and prayer points from time to time from Open Doors’ World Watchlist of most dangerous countries for Christians to live in.

Our family has lived in one of the countries on that list. In fact, we raised our children there. You see, the Lord called us to share His love where no one would hear unless we went. Where Christmas is forbidden.

No twinkling lights lining store windows or festive holiday decorations. No big churches arranging choir concerts. No Christmas parties. No carolers. No gifts under the tree. No arguments about whether or not to tell your children about Santa. No Christians wishing all the commercialism would go away so we could just get back to Jesus.

And for the millions of lost all around us, no way to know Jesus, even if you wanted to.

Black Friday just isn’t a thing when you live where all is darkness.

But the world is changing now. A Light has begun to dawn in that darkness. Isaiah 9:2. In some countries closed off to the Gospel of Christ, the Spirit has begun to move in powerful ways, growing the underground church and empowering them to reach the lost.

With social media, seekers in restricted areas have also been reaching out on the internet to find Christians in open countries who will share Jesus with them. Have you come across any of them yet?

Not only that, but the nations are now moving in next to you. Lost people from countries you’ve been praying for may live just a few doors down. Have you met them yet?

“You are the light of the world. … Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 7:14-16 NIV
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;on those living in the land of deep darknes a light has dawned.” (Isaiah 9:2 NIV)

Prayers for the Persecuted this Christmas…

Merry Christmas! I hope you’re having an amazing season celebrating our Savior’s birth.

As you freely gather with your family and worship the Lord openly in your church this Christmas, please pause a moment, and pray for the many millions who still have never heard Jesus’ name….

Christmas-prayer for lost-Mikaela Vincent-MoreThanAConquerorBooks

… and for persecuted Christians around the world:

Lord, we ask You for Christians in closed countries, that You would hide them under the shadow of Your wings, and keep them safe from persecution and harm. Draw to them those who are true seekers, hungry to know the Living God. Empower and embolden them to share with those You’ve placed in their path to share with, and bring many thousands of lost to You this Christmas season, Lord. As Christians gather quietly in secret to celebrate Your birth, shield those meetings from the eyes and ears and knowledge of those who would mean them harm. Keep them warm and safe, bless them abundantly, and let them touch the depths of Your grace, love, glory, and felt presence. Perform miracles and signs and wonders to baffle their persecutors and draw lost people to You. May those who have stood so strongly against You for so long crumble now to their knees before You in surrender and worship. And may this coming year be a year of unprecedented growth in church plants, with both Christians and seekers craving to gather together to pray, worship, study Your Word, and grow together. Get Your Word into the hands of those who still have not read it in their own language, Lord. May Your Kingdom come to all the peoples of this earth! In Your glorious name. Amen.

And have a wonderful Christmas!

Mikaela Vincent
